Hostel - Esposende Garden

Esposende was a beautiful stop on my Fall 2025 Camino, and the Esposende Garden Hostel was the perfect place to rest and recharge after a long day of walking. The owner/hostess (Theresa) was very friendly. She said the house was in her family for several generations, and had recently been turned into a guest house. I had a large room to myself, but one of the highlights was the large bathroom. After being crammed into tiny showers/bathrooms for the previous few days, it was a nice treat to be able to have a normal shower and room to dry off without being so cramped. I met a nice friend there who I ended up walking with the next day and we have stayed in touch, I think the owner really tries to get to know the guests and make them feel like a part of her extended family. The location is right off the main Street along the waterfront, and very convenient for restaurants and the local market. I would definitely stay there again if I was in the area.

Staying here costs just 25€ per person, but the experience itself is truly priceless. From the very first moment, we felt the warmth and kindness of the owner and her wonderful family. We stumbled upon this place by chance while walking through the town, planning to stay just one night — but as soon as we arrived, we instantly knew we wanted to stay longer. So we did! Not only to rest, but to truly enjoy this peaceful town and the beautiful, lovingly decorated house. We will definitely come back. This place has such a special energy — full of love, good vibes, and amazing souls. I had a wonderful stay at this guesthouse! The hostess is incredibly kind and welcoming, making you feel at home from the very first moment. There is a kettle for coffee or tea in the morning, and guests can also use the garden to hang their laundry. The atmosphere is warm and cozy, the perfect place to relax. Highly recommended!

Such a beautiful place, very calm! Beautiful house and garden. The owner is very warm-hearted. When I walked the Camino Portugues, I was able to rest here. Very good energy, highly recommended!

I spent one night here during my costal camino portugues on my way to Santiago. I arrived at the Hostel having been declined from many other fue to fully booked beds. Teresa arranged a room for me in very short notice. The old building has very nicely been renovated and has a beautiful garden with free washing and drying possibilities for clothes. Teresa and her husband were the nicest Hosts I encountered on my way to Santiago. I can only recommend this place and would stay here myself again if I ever happened to be nearby.
