Hotel Áncora

I stayed here two nights and it was great in every way. My room was comfortable with a good bed and a small desk. There was great natural light but also good blackout blinds to close at night. Plenty of hot water. I bought the breakfast buffet one morning and can recommend it. (I was leaving too early the second morning.) WiFi was fast. Friendly staff.

Chinches! Bedbugs! Cimici da letto! A terrible experience. We stayed at this hotel for two nights while visiting Finisterre. During the second night, my hand became extremely itchy and swollen. At first, I thought it was a mosquito bite, but after carefully inspecting the room, we discovered a nest of bedbugs in a hole in the wallpaper, just behind the bed. Over the following hours, my face and all exposed areas of my body became severely swollen, and I had to go to the hospital, where I was treated with cortisone and antihistamines. We were forced to leave the hotel in the middle of the night, with no practical assistance or alternative accommodation offered by the reception staff. The receptionist acknowledged the problem and offered to wash our belongings, but all the additional washing and drying expenses we incurred afterward were paid out of our own pocket. Then they denied everything, saying that this story never happened, and probably renting the same bedroom straightforward to someone else. This was the worst travel experiences I have ever had. I also left a formal written complaint with the hotel, but I never received any response. The hotel may appear clean at first glance, although it is somewhat dated. Unfortunately, our experience was completely overshadowed by the bedbug infestation and its consequences.

I stayed at this hotel during my Camino. At first, I was given a room that had some objective shortcomings, which I immediately reported to the manager and requested another room – this request was promptly accommodated, and the new room even exceeded my expectations. I thank the staff for their politeness and responsiveness.

Superb stay! Friendly and patient staff, sparkling clean, nice bed and bathroom with a bath. The living room area felt welcoming and comfortable, although I didn’t have the chance to enjoy it. Massages at affordable prices was a wonderful bonus, and the location couldn’t be better - less than 5 minutes’ walk to the city centre, shops, and the port. It’s only a 20-minute walk to the stunning Langosteira beach as well. I’d happily stay here every time I return to Finisterra! Thank you.

absolutely love this hotel. such a great price, friendly staff, clean facilities and they have a kitchen?? absolutely amazing. only thing I wished was that the kitchen opened earlier but it’s okay, thank you all!
