Albergue O Encontro

I spent three nights here to end my Camino. The location is fantastic and the beds are very comfortable. There is a kitchen with everything you need and super hot water in the showers. On top of that, Maria is very kind and relaxed. A nice contrast to some of the stuffy hospitaleros you meet on the Camino.

The woman who owns the hotel was very nice, but while I was checking in I saw a lot of signs up about how the owners took no responsibility for theft so I decided to switch to a private room with a key rather than the open dormitory. Last night someone broke in and robbed a kid at knife point in that room, scary stuff. I know hostel stays aren't always the safest but they need to improve security.

Location was good, 4 of us stayed in the 4 bed dorm room. 1 of the bunk beds was terrible for noise and creaking with any movement. Shower and bathroom was good. Staff were not friendly or helpful at all. Plenty of other options for same price. Because of staff we decided to go find another place the next night.

A warm hearted, great place in which I have really loved to stay for a couple of nights. It's amazingly clean for an Albergue, the night is just 10 EUR and you get a coffee in the "morning", whenever you get up. I miss the O Encontro already, had a goox time over there 😊😉 Thanks to the hosts, you're doing and awesome job! I'll return, we'll see again for sure!!! 😊

I was dragged in from the street after finding out that the public albergue was closed. Although I strongly dislike this means of finding accomodation, I decided to stay. The hospitalero was kind. Plenty of free-to-take food for cooking if you're a budget pilgrim and like to save money on food. Lots of tea and coffee!! I was also offered cooked food for free. Clean room and bathroom, but no heating and one of the beds was very noisy.
