Albergue San Mateo en Cádavo Baleira

A very comfortable, cozy and clean albergue. There are a shoe driers, washing and drying machine. Kitchen is very well equipped and there is a lot of space around beds. Owner is very nice.

This review is for the hostal (private rooms), not the albergue; the hostal doesn't seem to have its own listing. At €50 (cash only!) this was one of the more expensive private rooms I've had on the Primitivo, so I was surprised to hear about the 8AM checkout time and even more surprised to hear about the 10PM lockin time - this was later amended to 11PM but I'm not sure which is true. The hostal is in a completely separate building from the albergue and I didn't get a key to the front door of either. This means when I got up at 7:30 for my 8AM checkout time, I was locked out of the building with the kitchen, vending machines, and common areas, and couldn't get a coffee until 8AM. If I'd had food in the fridge overnight I also wouldn't have been able to access it until 8AM. For the price, I expect better thought-out service and amenities.

Excellent. Great sleeping quarters with lots of available power. Good bathrooms and showers. Excellent location near grocery stores. Big back patio for chilling and drying clothes.

This is a nice, new albergue with a well-equipped kitchen and a courtyard. The dormitories were spacious, with private lockers and large bathrooms in each dorm. The only downside was that the bathroom door was very loud. The albergue is located in the middle of the village, so all cafés, restaurants, and grocery stores are nearby.

Very good albergue with good WiFi. Downstairs is a vending machine for coffee and snacks. They have a washer and a dryer and a self- laundry basin. Very modern and clean. Provided sheets and blankets !
