If there is an angel of Camino, it is definitely Helena and her lovely house. I felt like coming to my grandma, the visit was full of love, calmness and openness. Her house is just a lovely piece of architecture with very unique soul of peaceful and artistic elements. Helena will prepare lovely vegetarian dinner for you together with tasty breakfast. There is all you may need on the pilgrimage and big plus are also single beds. If I ever go Camino again, I will definitely come back. Thank you, Helena 💙👑
Incredible. Easily my favorite night of 30+ on the Camino. Helena embraces Camino hospitality like no other. Beautiful and cozy place to relax, rest and sleep (all single beds). Best dinner (vegetarian and communal!) and my only regret is that I didn’t stay for breakfast!
If you are on the Camino don’t pass this one up. It was like being at your best friends house! Estella takes host to new level. Clean comfortable, delicious dinner with a morning send off with a hug and a kiss on the cheek! Then as we walked away she’s outside ringing a bell. Don’t pass it up just because it’s not in the guide book!
This Albergue has to be my favourite so far. We stayed there last Tuesday in the beautiful house. Helena was warm and welcoming and created a superb evening meal. She has created a very warm space from the heart. The rooms are quirky and homely and the spaces are lovely. We stayed in a room with three beds. Thank you Helena from Gregor Bernie and Jan…. We will be back. Grateful to you Namaste 🙏🏻 ❤️
Love love love. The hostess/owner Helena is a wonderful artist and beautiful, sincere soul who runs this hostel from her heart. Thank you Helena for your warm and inviting hospitality and delicious healthy vegetarian food. We got lucky the night we stayed and had a (pescatarian) bonus with our dinner— a wonderfully prepared scallop, right in the shell! Plus plentiful portions of salad/beets, bread, rice and veggies, and dessert (plus wine for those who like it). Yummy healthy breakfast with real bread, butter/jam/honey, yogurt, granola, fruit, coffee/tea and milk. Super comfy beds with sheet and blankets. We slept so well. There are two rooms with two beds each, and then a larger room with the other beds spread out so everyone has a bit of privacy. It’s more expensive than most albergues, but it’s worth it and it represents the true spirit of the Camino! Finally, starting the day in Azqueta is so much more beautiful (and easier) than starting in Estella. Don’t miss it!!!
