Don't bother staying in the rather dull Sarria. Walk the extra easy 3km to this unique gem. Nice, clean, aesthetic rooms. Appears to be managed by the adjacent Casa Barbadelo. Great food, drinks and a nice terrace can be found at Casa Barbadelo as well.
The surroundings are beautiful, but getting there is difficult because access is via a poorly maintained country road. The floors are wooden and creak a lot: every time someone passes by, it seems like everything shakes, and if you're on the ground floor, it's impossible to rest, as if the floor is about to collapse on top of you. The most worrying thing is the hygiene: there was a lot of humidity, dirt, and mold. It was especially difficult for us because my children are allergic to humidity. The guy at reception was very friendly, but I don't recommend the hostel at all.
About 3 km from Sarria. The house is cool but poorly designed. The wooden floor makes everything shake when someone steps on it. And you can hear the person in the room next door breathing. If you encounter several disrespectful people, you won't get any rest because there are no hours and no one is supervising you. The good thing is that you can use the services of the hostel next door, like the pool!
It's really great, I recommend it to everyone who comes to do the Camino de Santiago from Sarria to Santiago de Compostela. It's a unique experience with beautiful landscapes, lots of nature, and great people.
The rooms are very nice, large, and clean. Only two don't have windows (they have skylights), and since only two rooms were occupied, we got the one without. The food was very good and reasonably priced. The only complaint about the service was that I asked for plant-based or lactose-free milk and the response was ONLY WHOLE MILK, rather curtly (the girl who told me seemed angry with the pilgrims the whole time; she was polite but curt). Aside from this, the location is perfect, the views spectacular, the tranquility immense, and the complex very well-equipped and beautiful.
