5 / 5 We absolutely loved our stay here. This was my boyfriend’s last night on the Camino, and it couldn’t have been more perfect. Asun was super friendly and welcoming, meeting us downstairs to show us all the amenities.
Our room was beautiful and comfortable with a lovely view of the riverbed, and the shower felt amazing after five long days of walking. I really appreciated being able to put my groceries in the fridge downstairs, which was very convenient.
Our favorite part was spending the evening on the balcony overlooking the river, relaxing our tired feet with a bottle of wine and planning the next couple of days of our Camino Francés. The location is right in the middle of everything, which makes exploring Estella so easy.
Highly recommend staying here. Just a tip for future guests: think about booking a dinner reservation ahead of time if you arrive later in the day.
5 / 5 One of the cleanest and best places on the Camino. Perfect location, best shower and comfy beds. The owner is simply lovely offering some great suggestions of where to eat and go. They have renovated this and kept much of the old charm. It’s stunning!
4 / 5 very welcome stay after a long day on the bike which started 70km west in the rain and ended in the sun. Beautifully restored building, with very tasteful design, and we had glorious view out of window onto river; helpful owner, comfortable, A very nice kitchenette available for guests.
5 / 5 Beautiful accommodation, so tastefully decorated. Fabulous host, was so helpful. One of the best places we’ve stayed in on the Camino.
5 / 5 The owner and manager of La Rua, Asun, is very profesional, accommodating and sweet. She got out of her way to make the hostel and our room adapt to my daughter’s special needs. She called us previos to our arrival several times to ask me questions to prepare best our room. The hostal has the quality and feel of a five star hotel in terms of spotless clean rooms, lobby, terrace, etc and for the absolutely beautifully restored antic house in to this great hostal.
The views from both ends of the hostal (we’re here with a friend in an other room) are, on one side the old well kept town and the mountains in the background, and on the other end the same old beautiful houses with a perfect view of the creek right below the hostal.
The town is quint and beautiful and the people in town are very friendly and some even bathe in the creek to cool off the summer heat.
The hostal is close to nice and inexpensive restaurants and stores. The “Camino De Santiago” runs right through the small old stone road the hostal is located on. Very convenient if you are walking the “Camino”. Walking in both directions is beautiful and easy to walk. As I said before, my daughter has special needs and walks with foot braces.
I have traveled to many places, glamorous hotels and simple ones for more than forty years and I must say, this small and adorable hostal is one of my top five favorites.
I highly recommend it.
