Casa Grande Hotel

We had an incredible stay at Casa Grande Hotel. One of the most beautiful hotels in the world. The entire place was spotless and so thoughtfully crafted. The room had full air conditioning and dinner / breakfast / wine was amazing! We will definitely return, you need to try this place!

Casa Grande is an Amazing place to stay for tourists and pilgrims alike. The building is recently renovated with a modern style - it is beautiful and incredibly stylish. Every detail in your room is so delicately designed and decorated that, as someone who has travel around the world, I can tell you it’s much better than many of the 5 star hotels in New York, Hong Kong etc. I stayed as a pilgrim and they do offer massage services for help you recover (I didn’t get one but you can!). Their dinner is also fantastic, best meal I had on my pilgrim journey. Overall 10/10!! I also had a conversation with the owner Monica, she runs this place with heart ! Thank you Monica for such a good place!

We did not have a good experience this time at Casa Grande. To be clear, we were not staying at this Albergue on this occasion but we had stayed here previously on our last Camino so were return customers. On this Camino it was necessary to make a phone call to our doctors back in the UK and asked if they had somewhere quiet we could sit and make the call (using our own phones). The cleaner was incredibly helpful and made a call to who we assume was the manager - We were then turned away. Pilgrims in need, turned away 👎 I have no doubt this is a very nice hotel. It is clean and modern. It is so modern they seem to have turned their backs what the Camino means and on the community that sustains them. It is behaviour of a hotel disinterested in the welfare of its pilgrims. It is a shame. This may have been an isolated incident that I hope will be a learning opportunity.. but for now I would think carefully before giving my money to an organisation that would not assist a fellow pilgrim in need.

Perfect combination of oh-so-cool style and friendly, family welcome, which is so rare! Room is exquisite, the food the same and the property achingly beautiful.. Monika and Raul so friendly, this has been such a wonderful experience. Close enough to Haro and the Rioja bodegas which matter. We will return.. Gracias!

If you are looking to treat yourself after 10 days on the Camino and 200+km you can’t go past the Casa Grande Hotel. The rooms are spacious, comfortable and well presented. The service is outstanding. If you are lucky enough to be hosted by Monica then your stay is guaranteed to be an a 11 out of 10. Thanks so much for making 2 weary and hot pilgrims very welcome and relaxed, shame we could only stay one night but the trail calls.
