Casa Paderborn in Pamplona is a true gem on the Camino. The hostel is incredibly clean, organized, and peaceful, but what makes it truly stand out is the way pilgrims are welcomed here. I had a terrible experience at another hostel in Pamplona (Aloha) where, after returning late, they didn’t even open the door for me and left me out in the street in the middle of the night. It was upsetting and completely against the spirit of the Camino. Coming to Casa Paderborn was the exact opposite. From the very first moment, Anneta and Bettina welcomed me with open arms, warmth, and genuine care. I have stayed in hotels all around the world, including 5-star hotels, but never in my life have I experienced such a reception. The kindness and love I felt here was beyond what you could expect even from family. It is a place where you are not just a guest, but truly part of something bigger – the Camino spirit of hospitality and compassion. This hostel turned my whole experience in Pamplona around and reminded me why the Camino is so special. Thank you, Anneta and Bettina, for your generosity and for creating such a beautiful, loving atmosphere. I will never forget this stay, and I recommend Casa Paderborn to every pilgrim who passes through Pamplona. It is much more than just a place to sleep – it is a place to be received with true love and care.

Stayed here in October 2025. The German women running it are truly lovely. They keep it very clean and run a tight ship. There were mats on the floor for when you step out of the shower, hand soap, and hand towels in the bathrooms- those are nice little touches you miss when staying at typical municipal albergues. It's an incredibly good deal. Keep in mind if doing the Camino that it is on the side of Pamplona you enter the city from when walking, which is nice to not have to go so far into the city on the day you are arriving, but then more of a walk to get out of the city the next morning. It is nice that you can arrange to drop your bag early if you arrive before 13:00 check-in. I was able to drop my bag at noon, go grab lunch, and then come back just after they opened an hour later.

If you are a pilgrim doing the Camino de Santiago, and if you are passing through Pamplona, you must stay in this place. The two ladies that run the place are very polite and helpful. And the house itself is beautiful and the environment is very special.

The best place to hang out, especially if you are German. The voluntary hosts are exceptional. Very clean and very efficient. Probably the best place to hang out when you pass through Pamplona

What a great albergue! From the moment we arrived, the hospitaleros were warm, grateful, and genuinely helpful—creating a wonderful Camino vibe. The space is small but thoughtfully laid out and full of nice touches. We were offered lemon water and cookies upon arrival and weren’t rushed through check-in, which helped us unwind. The metal bunks creak a bit, but the mattresses were very comfortable. I was pleasantly surprised by the satin cloth sheets and pillowcases—quite a luxury for the Camino! The pillows were a bit too firm for my taste, but that’s personal. The bathroom is limited in size but well equipped: hand soap, real towels, bath mats, even a hair dryer. There were plenty of electrical outlets for everyone. No communal kitchen, but I’m sure the hosts would help if you needed something. They offer breakfast at a reasonable price. There's also a dedicated hand-washing area with a clothesline and clothespins, plus a lovely outdoor seating area. A peaceful location and even a nearby grassy riverbank for relaxing. In the morning, they put up a cheerful “Buen Camino” sign at the entrance—a sweet final touch. Highly recommended.
