No free toiletries, no smoke alarm and really the photos online from booking.com and the like did not represent realistically. Communication was extremely difficult, 4 languages were not spoken by staff.
I will give it 5 stars because it is a room in the center of the city for a very good price. I arrived with out a reservation and the check-in was easy. I paid 30 Euros for a single room. I believe that is the normal price for the season. The room was very clean and the bed was comfortable. I would stay again.
Stay from November 6th to 9th at Pension Leyre in Pamplona. I have received no response from Booking.com regarding my complaint since November 9th. Here are the facts that justify my rating and comments. During the night of November 6th to 7th, we were awakened by a major flood coming from the ceiling of our room. Water poured down the walls and onto the floor, soaking all our belongings. The flow was so strong that a mirror attached to the wall fell onto the television, shattering everything on the floor. We could have been injured if we had stayed in the room for a few more minutes. At 5:00 AM, we had to change rooms ourselves. The owner got up because of the noise, without apologizing or offering any help. We were only able to fall back asleep around 6:00 AM. Despite this serious incident, upon check-out on November 9th, the owner demanded full payment for the stay (€235), without apology or any gesture of goodwill. After discussion, she initially refused any compensation, then offered a €10 discount, which we refused. She finally agreed to a total of €200, which remains woefully inadequate given the inconvenience suffered. Another problematic point: the price charged was for a room with a private bathroom, whereas the bathroom was in the common areas, which does not correspond to the service booked. An incident can happen, but the complete lack of consideration, professionalism, and business sense is unacceptable. We do not recommend this establishment.
The guesthouse, although a bit dated, enjoys an excellent location. Despite needing some renovations, its charm remains. The owner's attentiveness contributes to a pleasant stay. Her kindness certainly makes up for any minor shortcomings. In short, it's a great option to consider.
A place with many improvements needed. Its location is privileged, but it's not enough to justify, for example: the fact that the heating doesn't work all the time. In the morning, you shower without it and it's cold. At night, if you arrive later than 11:00 p.m., it's already stopped. The hot water takes about three to four minutes to reach the shower. It's a terrible waste of energy and unacceptable in these times. The fact that the bathroom walls in the room don't reach the ceiling. It's incomprehensible how a place like this has an operating license. Notice to sailors: it's just a place to sleep.
