Great stay! The staff were very friendly and professional, and the location is perfect — just across the street from the beach. The room was spacious and comfortable. The only small downside was the lack of power outlets near the bed.
We love the hotel location and layout of the room. However, we overlooked the fact that it is a pet friendly hotel and we were traveling without pets. Not only our room has pet odors left from previous furry tenants, the walls are rather thin and you can hear dogs barking or neighbors watching TV. I'd recommend the management to install shower curtain as water tends to spray out of the shower pan and causing mold and damage to the bathroom wall and door frame. Overall, it's a good place for a short stay when traveling with pets.
Great service, a family-run hotel, perfect for taking your dog with you. Perfect breakfast included. Great value for money. We stay here every time we come to Gijón. Great location, very close to both the city center and San Lorenzo Beach.
Enjoyed my 2 day stay, very average breakfast. The woman who served breakfast would not toast bread for us and she was very rude, both mornings I was there, obviously should not be working with cutomers then!! The reception staff were more friendly and welcoming. The day I checked in, the 1 receptionist did not know where my bag was. When I got to the room, my bag was already in the room 🥴, so poor communication amongst staff. A lady just opened my door 1 afternoon, I went to find out why someone can access my room at reception, they did apologize and said it was the cleaner. But can this cleaner not knock 🤯. Also the plumbing throughout the building makes alot of noise! But water was warm and good pressure. African theme in hotel, coming from South Africa 🇿🇦 myself, it was good to see some small familiarity to home!
We stayed at Hotel San Miguel one night on our travels to our final destination in Valdovino. As we had our dog with us, options were limited on where to stay but we needn't have worried. The hotel is in a brilliant location, good sized room and bathroom, so plenty of space even with our pooch. Easy walk to the promenade and a lovely beach full of dogs having fun in the surf. Staff were all super friendly and so helpful, including allowing us to put our bicycles in the hotel storeroom, which put our minds at ease not having to leave them on the car overnight. Indeed, we liked it so much, we decided to stay in the Hotel San Miguel on our return trip
