Just stay here...stop looking! Beautiful hotel, great rooms (especially the suites!), and low, low rates! If you're an expat and are looking for a nice, comfortable, clean and modern hotel, this is it! Also, cappuccino and sandwiches until 11 on site with a fabulously friendly and helpful staff. If I could give 6 stars, I would!
We spent two nights here. The minibar was not restocked. The dirty cups were not replaced. We had to ask reception for clean mugs for our tea on the second night. Hard to believe this is a four star hotel.
Great modern hotel with spacious room, nice bathroom, shower etc. It is conveniently located right near train station (5 min walk). Staff is very friendly and helpful. We had a wonderful experience.
I stayed at Hotel Silken Ciudad Gijón for two days during my visit to Gijón, and it was a truly pleasant experience. The hotel is located very close to the railway station, which made it extremely convenient for travel and exploring the city. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and well-maintained, offering a relaxing space after a day of sightseeing. What really stood out to me, however, was the quality of the food. The meals served at the hotel restaurant were excellent, and the breakfast was simply incredible – a great variety, fresh ingredients, and something for every taste. Overall, I loved my stay in Gijón, and Hotel Silken Ciudad played a big part in making it memorable. I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a comfortable, well-located hotel with great food and service.
Great hotel. Only big issue was the AC is centrally controlled and doesn’t work. The staff can only turn it on. I know this as I stayed with my colleagues and we all experienced the same issue. I spoke to the staff and they claimed they got a repair man in to fix the issue. So i had no AC at night and was very hot. I didn’t sleep well during my stay at the hotel. This is my only complaint but the fact I couldn’t sleep is not good. I did request a fan, but was not provided with one. I feel if you are going to pay £100s a night for a hotel room, you should have working AC. Apart from that, service was good, rooms are nice and you can watch YouTube on the TVs. Bathroom was clean. The breakfast was very delicious and varied. The staff were kind to us during our stay and packed us breakfast when we had to leave early in the mornings. The bar and restaurant were also very nice. Pools were enjoyable too.
