This beautiful lodge is in Plaza Mayor of Santillana Del Mar. As soon as you step foot in this charming town you feel like you traveled back in time. The rooms and decorations in this hotel/lodge were incredible. They really take care of every small detail to give you the best experience. There’s food and drinks available throughout the day. We stayed in November and large part of the town was closed and on vacation. The hotel had a wonderful cuisine and incredible staff. We were greeted and hosted by Gabriela, Mayte and Raquel. If you’re looking for a unique historical town experience I highly recommend this magical hotel.
A parador full of charm, both rustic and authentic, set in a superb manor house right in the centre of the old town. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, well-equipped and full of old-world charm. The breakfast is rather copious, even if the coffee is undrinkable (although I'm not fussy...). In any case, the location is unbeatable, given that the historic centre is car-free, and the staff are very welcoming. A very nice stopover.
came for a club sandwich for a snack at the bar they have next to the restaurant, the food was good and we didnt wait too long. the lady with short dark hair was specially kind to us and we appreciated her help and always checking on us/our table.
The hotel is located in the citadel and is within walking distance of the main attractions in Santillana del Mar. The rooms are clean, however, they are small and they do not have the same amenities as other Paradors have.
I stayed here for one night while on the Camino del Norté. I have stayed in a few Paradores and this would be more the boutique kind. It's a small hotel, but extremely cozy in it's interior, however the bedrooms are big! Sadly, my room was quite dark, as it only had one window. But the space made up for it. The receptionist was very welcoming and so wete the bar staff, if you can find them. You do have to wait a while to be served in the interior and outside bar. The breakfast was a small buffet, but it had the usual Parador style of being able to order food from the kitchen. It's location is excellent! Right in the main, but quiet square. Beds were excellent. Pillows were perfect and air conditioning worked well.
