Staying in Rafa's place for the third time already and it's a wonderful experience again. Lovely authentic posada, nice traditional rooms, perfectly clean modern bathrooms, luxurious towels and sheets, lovely terrace with a nice view and breakfast, wonderful staff, protected parking and easy access through the back road (no need to drive through the town). Certainly the top place to stay in Santillana!
A wonderful Posada. The room was delightful with a modern bathroom. Fantastic view from our lovely balcony. Interior was traditional and superbly presented. The owner spoke great English and was friendly and helpful and was also very funny and made us very welcome. Perfectly located for the centre of Santillana Del Mar. Breakfast was excellent and we ate on the rear terrace with lovely views of rural life and the small town. The church in the centre is well worth a visit.
We spent 6 days here and it was lovely. Delicious breakfast, the staff are happy for quests to use the terrace at other times to bring our own picnics in. Best vermouth in town, Nicky was very helpful. Rafa was very kind, friendly, informative and made us very welcome. The rooms are beautiful, bedding and other features are lovely quality but the Inn is not pretentious. Wonderful building and views, eg extremely old entrance door. Very reasonably priced and staff happy to make lovely tea and coffee. Wonderful.
I was cycling in Northern Spain with 4 others, where we stayed in 7 different hotels. We all agreed that this was by far the best of them all. The rooms were beautifully set out and spotlessly clean. Having breakfast outside on the rear terrace was probably the highlight of our week. Rafa was very polite, helpful and considerate. Loved it.
Amazing location in the heart of Spain’s most beautiful small village. Reception was able to check us in early even though our room was not available. Free parking below. The receptionist spoke very good English and was very welcoming and provided great recommendations for food and the amazing local beach only 10 mins away called Santa Justa. See the large church. Also had live music you could hear with the windows open. Bathrooms have been recently updated and are all extremely clean and modern. Rooms and beds very clean and comfortable. Will be staying again!
