Assumptions behind the estimate

The calculator starts with broad 2026 planning ranges: roughly €10–€15 for public-style albergue nights, €18–€30 for private albergues, €12–€65 per day for food depending on style, and €6–€10 per baggage-transfer stage. They are deliberately ranges because Camino prices vary by town, month and availability.

Peak season adds a modest accommodation allowance; quieter months reduce it. Laundry and everyday extras are included automatically. Personal travel, equipment, insurance and other costs use the amounts you enter.

Camino budget questions

How much does the Camino de Santiago cost per day?

A practical budget varies widely by accommodation and eating style. This calculator uses editable low-to-high assumptions rather than pretending every pilgrim or route costs the same.

Does the calculator include flights and equipment?

Yes. Add your own return travel, equipment and insurance estimates. They are kept separate from daily walking costs so you can see where the money goes.

Are the estimates exact?

No. They are planning ranges, not quotes. Prices change by season, town, availability and booking choice. Review the editable assumptions before relying on the result.

Can I save the budget as a PDF?

Use Print or save PDF after calculating. Your browser will open a print-ready report which can be printed or saved as a PDF without an email form.
