I stayed for four days in October 2024, during which there was no one to assist me. My room, which had one bed, had a key, but they wouldn't let me use it. Therefore, during the day, when I was out, it was open—that is, the room was open for four days for anyone who wanted to come in, look around, take things, etc. There was an air conditioning unit, but the remote control was missing. They didn't leave any towels in the room either. The duvet, which you had to make yourself, was also covered by a sheet, and it was disgustingly dirty. They gave me the password for the Wi-Fi network via WhatsApp, which included their name, but when I tried to connect for those four days, the internet was down. I mentioned the missing keys and towels via WhatsApp on the first day, and they replied that it was strange, that it was a mistake, and that they would fix it the next day. That was a lie; the next day it was the same. Only on the second day, when I went back in the morning, did I see someone ironing, and they could only give me towels—no key, no remote control for the air conditioner (which had been stolen), etc. In the hostel's only shared men's bathroom—which is already unusual, as there's only one—there was no soap in either of the dispensers in the sink and shower until the third day. On the second day, I complained again via WhatsApp, but no one responded. They didn't resolve anything, and there's no one at reception any day; it's always closed. In short, the place and the service are TERRIBLE. NOT RECOMMENDED.
Hostel right in the heart of Lugo, next to the cathedral, on the wine street, an excellent location. The rooms are fantastic; we stayed for three days and it was spectacular. The views from the room were of the mountains and the cathedral, everything was great, very clean, and modern. Downstairs there's a bar with delicious homemade vermouth, generous tapas, and homemade cocktails. Luisa and Jorge's service was outstanding; they were always attentive to our needs. In short, what more can I say? I encourage you to discover this place, whether you're traveling to Lugo or just passing through the area and want to grab a drink.
I'm not going to rate this place as a hostel because I've only been to its bar at night when it's open as a pub... and as a pub, I have to say it's a shame they hire such rude bouncers. They were incredibly rude, demanding to know where we were going, asking if we were going to the bathroom... and saying we could only enter if we bought something... it's clear that if there was any chance four of us would spend money all night... they disappeared.
They're open as a pub. We tried to go in out of curiosity since it was the first time we'd seen one. A very rude person, claiming to be the doorman, stopped us and told us not to go pee there and that he wouldn't let us in unless we bought something. We won't be back.
The people were really nice and saved our lives during the San Froilán festival. It's apartments where you rent a room and share the bathroom and kitchen with other people. It's very quiet, well soundproofed. Our room didn't have a window, but others might. Very central and cheap.
