Albergue Peregrinos San Lázaro

Pretty decent. It is a camino away from Compostela, but could be worse distance wise. The rooms were spacious, but there are about 20 beds per room so prepare for that. The common areas were plenty and spacious. It had a nice big kitchen too.

It is perfect. You can cook here and it is very cozy.

The guy working there is super kind and lovley but that’s unfortunately the only good thing about this place and the fact that the bus station is near. Other than that it is dirty & not private at all. Bathroom is outside of the actual sleeping area, there’s no curtain in the shower. You sleep in a room with 20 other people. Some people were snoring so much that at one point it sounded like snoring opera 😂 I didn’t sleep at all. I would def cosider other options if I were you.

As a final albergue after walking the Camino de Santiago it feels a bit like a letdown, especially if you've experienced the absolute luxury of other albergues supported by the region of Galicia before, which also cost 10€ per night. The hospitaleros Isaac and Manuel were both charming and very helpful and I enjoyed the company of the other pilgrims. The albergue has a fully equipped and functional kitchen free to use but to get to the bathroom you have to go outside - possibly in the cold if it's winter. I had great wifi speeds and was able to download a full movie in just a few minutes. The bus to the center and the airport only costs 1€ and commutes every 30 minutes from the bus station just a few meters away (as of writing this you can't find it as a public transport option on Google Maps unfortunately).

A place to welcome pilgrims at the entrance to Santiago de Compostela. It is better because there is a kind and responsible Mr. Manuel. The only downside is that it is a little far from the cathedral.
