HOSTEL PORTON

It’s a nice albergue! The man hosting was very friendly, the bathrooms are clean and the beds were comfortable. There are no bunk beds so there is no squeaking or rattling all night. It feels like a sketchy part of the fortress but as a solo female walking there for two nights, I found no problems. Not far from the major cathedral and an entrance to the fortress wall walking path.

We stayed in the only private room, which had a less practical bathroom setup, but the atmosphere of the place and the bar were amazing. Beautiful design with greenery, vintage furniture, and a chandelier made it truly memorable.

Super clean, kitchen well equipped, no bunk beds, nicely renovated, enough bath rooms… but the best of this albergue is the manager Libni. 5 star rating because of her: she welcomes you with smiles, understands pilgrims needs, is super helpful and serves you tasty food and drinks at the bar of the hostel…it seems she is working 24/7. Don’t miss the bar, it is super stylish, cozy and with a great outdoor terrace.

A beautiful interior, well designed, and creates a very relaxed and chic atmosphere. We had the sangria, €5 each, but I found that this was more expensive than others which I have liked more. The service was also a little slow and there were not a lot of tapas options.

Love it. I haven’t seen nothing like this in my three Caminos (so far…). One of those that you will never imagine what’s inside. And the staff is very friendly and accommodating. Glad I picked this one for my rest day in Lugo!
