Duques De Najera

I had the misfortune of calling to the hotel yesterday evening - ok, so they only had a room for 3 people which did not suit my requirements. No problem, just move on. I have to add the following which was my experience there; The receptionist must have been having a really bad day otherwise a course in Customer Service is long overdue. Nothing like the reviews I've read here beforehand. I found said receptionist to be rude, unhelpful and dismissive. As the room did not suit me she was not e en interested in advising where I might find accommodation or providing any help whatsoever. .

Charming and incredibly helpful staff, I want to get back to Nájera asap! My room was decked out with love and really comfortable. Beautiful balcony and very roomy.

Clean and charming. It has a very nice rustic feel to it. Only complaint is that you can hear the outside activities very clearly, even if the window is closed. However, will definitely be staying here again.

Check the fine print on check-in time restrictions!! Otherwise you could be stranded in a foreign country at 2AM with nowhere to go because the hotel reception is not open to check you in!! The man on the other end of the phone number answered at 2AM - I commend that. But he didn't mind telling me to come back at 7AM even though I tried to explain that I wouldn't have a place to go to for the night. Immediately made my reservation at a hotel that has 24hr check-in and never entered Duques De Najera Hotel.

Very good hotel. Good size room and bathroom. They didn't serve dinner but the lady recommend the restaurant around the corner which was really good and great value. Hotel beakfast was very good.
