Arrived late afternoon, they checked us in at reception. Very nice! They provided a fan for the room. Had breakfast laid out and we were able to leave early (6am) to beat the heat

AWFUL experience! Worst Albergue on the Camino so far! Extremely poor and unprofessional service at the reception where they gave us no information at all, they closed the door at 10 pm and we did not know about it since we didn’t notice the sign and the personnel did not inform us properly during the check in. At 10:10 pm when we got back from dinner the door was closed and we were left outside! The 2 phone numbers of this Albergue where both disconnected, there was no key or code to get in and no emergency contact!! They are not reachable in case of emergency and this is very worrying. The next morning when arguing with the personnel they didn’t even apologise and behaved like they didn’t care. The place overall was not in good conditions, too few bathrooms and showers, very old and dingy! We DO NOT recommend this place

We walked into the albergue and got a private room. Staff acted a bit like we were inconveniencing them when they walked us over to another building where the private rooms were. Bedspread and one of the towels in the bathroom were dirty. These weren't stains....they looked as if they hadn't been washed. Were not offered any choices for dinners or breakfast and their "24 hour" vending machine was locked behind a door when we left in the morning so we couldn't even grab a snack. Unfortunately one of maybe 2 places on the Camino we are NOT recommending.

This place was clean, comfy, and the owners were friendly. They have laundry machines and a decent meal. The bathroom can get a little tight at times. Overall this was a really good albergue!

We looked at the website of Albergue Izar before booking and what we found really bore no resemblance to what was advertised. We were extremely disappointed. The main issue was cleanliness. The bed linen was smelly and stained. The pillow itself stained... as I turned the pillowslip inside out hoping for some peace of mind to put my head on it. The sheets and comforters were stained as well. We rang a day ahead of our arrival to book but they had no record of this. As a couple we requested a double room, which the website advertised. This was actually a room wirh 2 single beds snd a set of bunks. At least they didn't put anyone else in with us. The bathroom facilities were disgusting. It didn't look as though they had been properly cleaned for weeks. Both toilets flushing buttons were broken and the floor was awash with water throughout, a drainage issue. The albergue had the makings of a great hostal... even though the entrance needs some reconfiguration to allow more than one person to enter at a time. They have a decent kitchen but could do with some signs to ensure pilgrams clean up after themselves and the rooms are adequate. Satisfactory housekeeping and regular laundering of linens, and general cleaning is necessary. I would also suggest that there is hot water in the outside area so handwashing can be done effectively. A positive... we enjoyed the pilgrims nenu. Overall though... we were happy to move on. By far our worst experience on the Camino.
