If you want to have a real pilgrimage experience, Sleeping on the floor, with dinner in which you participate in the preparation (and washing the dishes). All this donation (you leave some money for the next day and other pilgrims who come) Female volunteers in the albergue - nice with a lot of information about the city ... My warm recommendation

These beautiful souls had cooked Caldo Gallego for us peregrinos when we stayed here. The meal, the company and the albergue went straight to the heart.
I received a very friendly welcome from a Dutch volunteer. The pilgrims prepare the meal together, and the dessert was delicious, thanks to an American from Seattle. It's a donation.
A simple parish hostel with mattresses, communal breakfast and dinner. Staffed by excellent volunteer hospitaleros. A true luxury for the pilgrim to Santiago.
They only spoke English. They didn't care that I didn't understand a word they said.
