We stayed here as a group on the Camino. We actually stayed an extra night. The facilities are very clean, the bar very convenient with amazing coffee and home-made tortilla de patata. We arrived in the dark and woke up to beautiful views of the mountains and a mist covered valley. Bea is amazing and takes pride in making everyone’s stay comfortable. We hope to go back the next time on the Camino if only to say hi to Bea.

I had a wonderful stay at Ikigai during my Camino de Santiago walk. Rooms were clean, the shower was hot and the dinner was the best food value in town—simply a great pilgrim meal! Haven’t seen any staff working harder than Beatrice anywhere on the Camino. Would definitely go back.

I don’t understand the high reviews. I booked this place due to wonderful reviews but it was quite disappointing as a pilgrim. The bedroom door to our dorm did not close and kept blowing open with the light sensor turning on. The pillow provided felt like a few clumps of cotton wool together. The night I stayed there were only a few pilgrims, yet about 30-40 locals as part of a sporting group who were extremely loud late at night, slamming doors, running up the corridors and made sleeping difficult. Their dinner was at 21:00 when the pilgrim dinner was at 18:30. Unfortunately because of this, there was little pilgrim vibe (I understand groups make bookings but I would have appreciated if the owner had advised pilgrims of this). I wish I had stayed somewhere else closer to the centre (note this place is on the main road which makes the traffic noise very loud). Dogs were barking wildly into the night. I hardly slept. The lady managing the place (Patricia) was nice, and the dinner was OK, it just lacked the vibe I’d expect as a pilgrim. The outdoor area feels like it’s lacking a bit of love. Sadly I had much higher expectations and wouldn’t return here.

Staying at Ikigai was a wonderful experience. Beatriz is a wonderful host and she is very lively and a lot of fun. She keeps her guests happy and is always willing to help and make them feel at home. The pilgrims meal was very satisfying and value for money. And it was cooked by Beatriz herself. There is lots more to Ikigai. Beatriz makes her own home made massage butter cream which is everyone to use after a long walk. This is one stay on the Camino that I will always remember. And I have a friend for life. Anil.

I’m very glad I chose to stay at Ikigai. Bea is a wonderful host who makes everyone feel at home. It’s the perfect environment for relaxing with a coffee or beer and enjoying the company of your fellow guests.
