Great stay – would happily return We stayed at Mercure Lugo Centro and were very pleased. Modern, well-designed rooms with a genuinely beautiful view over a garden and rooftops – something you don’t always get in city hotels. Service was excellent: friendly, attentive, and easy to deal with throughout our stay. And the shower deserves a special mention – outstanding. It actually became a recurring topic of conversation at dinner among us and our travel companions, which probably says everything. After long days on the road, this place delivers exactly what you need. Highly recommended.
Find someplace else to go! The staff at this hotel are rude, unwelcoming and downright nasty. Not a smile, a greeting or willingness to help make your stay comfortable. Gave 1 star because the rooms are clean and modern but not a single amenity. There is not a tissue, a shower cap or body lotion provided…nothing. The ultimate insult is if you require extra towels you are charged €2 PER TOWEL! I have never, ever, experienced this insulting charge in all my life (and I do travel often). I went to fill my small travel cup with hot water with my own personal tea bag during breakfast that was paid for and was scolded as if I were a school child & accused of stealing from the hotel…using hot water! If you have a group staying there the food is not only meager it’s horrendous. The worst hotel experience in my life.
We had a great 1-night stay in Lugo at the Mercure. The staff warmly greeted us and provided information on where we could park our bikes as we are cycle touring. The hotel seems very new and well appointed. The room has a separate toilet and a separate bathroom with large shower. This was very much appreciated. There was a Nespresso type coffee machine in the room and small mills in the fridge for the coffee 😀. There is also a good selection of tea but they only provide espresso sized cups, which are not large enough for tea. We opted for the breakfast and we were not disappointed. A good selection on offer. The hotel is only 10 mins walking from the city walls and the path between the trees keeps you cool even in the afternoon. They could do better for the bike parking in the garage and provide a couple of bike stands to lock our bikes to. In the end we locked our bikes to an old table. Overall for the quality and comfort of the stay we found it good value for the money.
Great hotel, stayed there for 2 days. Everything was perfect starting from welcome at reception till check out. Good underground garage, cool and cozy lobby where guests and locals come for drinks and food. Modern and very clean rooms with interesting design and layout. Walking distance to city center. And of course, people working there make this place great! We enjoyed a lot to stay in Mercure hotel. Many compliments and high recommendation to stay there.
I had a great time at the hotel. The reception team is super friendly and very helpful. I received a prompt and effective response to all my queries. They organised a wedding for my friend and everything was on time, well organised used, good service and food menu. The rooms are well equipped, clean, and very comfortable. Secure parking and good walking distance to all local stores.
