Clean room, crispy linen and comfortable bed. Quiet. Polite staff. Good facilities. Fabulous location near great restaurants and beach. The parking is not attached to the hostel but it is very close ( less than a block away)

Good place for weary pilgrims. Smallish bunk rooms with pillows, great smelling linens and towels, all included. Each bunk had a light amd privacy curtain. Great communal rooms. During our time there, everyone was extremely considerate and quiet during sleeping hours.

I had an absolutely wonderful experience at Fishtail Sea House Hostel in Matosinhos. Even though my booking was initially cancelled due to my flight being delayed and my arrival being postponed to the next day, the hostel kindly reversed the cancellation and welcomed me warmly. The location is perfect very central and close to the beach. The hostel is extremely clean and well-maintained. Also the guests were so nice 🤎 A special thanks to Paula, who is an amazing, kind, and helpful person. She gave me plenty of tips and even went out of her way to drive me to a wedding so I wouldn’t be late because of my delayed flight. Paula, stay just as you are! I wish you and the team all the very best.🫂 I will come again for sure!

I really liked the comfortable beds. Felt luxurious with high end hotel like bedsheets. Kitchen and bathroom were sparkling clean. I was a bit annoyed with some of the guests talking loudly late (11pm) at night. I also stayed here on my first camino in 2019.

I was a little bit nervous about this place because I heard there was an issue with bedbugs. I was assigned to the green room and I was determined to analyze the sheets and the mattress and the pillows. But I saw nothing that concerned me. I was walking from Porto and because I left late, it was 6:45 PM and I received a phone call from the property manager. She wanted to know if I intended to be there by 7 PM when they closed the reception. I admitted that I was at least half an hour away, so she proceeded to give me the instructions for after reception hours entry. Everything worked very well, and I found my bed in good order. What I really liked was that there was a curtain across every bed, and a little shelf and a light within the bed area. There was one lounge area with the TV, and another lounge area on the main floor near the entry that seemed nice too. There was a kitchen and dining room. I never used either but they looked like they were clean. There was an entry to outdoor patio area off the kitchen, but it was raining that night so I didn’t experience it. One thing to note is that there is a bathroom on the upper floor that is for men and women both, including the shower area. Not knowing that there was a private shower area on the 2nd floor that I could’ve used, I just went ahead and had my shower, hoping that I would have enough privacy during my shower time. All in all, I believe I would recommend this place. And if you’re a Pilgrim, Buen Camino.
