Hotel is a quaint traditional Spanish hotel located in a rural area. We were given the attic room which was comfortable ans spacious since we also had exclusive use of a living room. We didn't notice the smell of smoking and had plenty of hot water, so perhaps the owner is working to improve things.

(Pilgrim September 14th, 2025-Stayed in room 1) My accommodations were Pre/booked prior to walking the Camino! I read the reviews after, I prepared myself for the worst. To whom reads this I am not minimizing the experience of others, but in my eyes this is a classic case of SEE FOR YOURSELF! The host Eric WAS EXTREMELY Polite and just jolly by nature, the Hotel was beautifully situated, the building was cottage type, dark wood, bar near the entrance, dining area adjacent and open plan. The stairs winding, yes the floors creaked, walls a little thin but it fit with ambience, situated in a lovely village. My room was very clean. No dust, No moldy smell. Bathroom was immaculate ( I can judge heavily, I own a cleaning business back in Canada) The bed was comfortable, I slept WELL. I had breakfast included with my package. Eric said come down anytime, did not feel rushed as the other bookings ex: 10 am cut off time. The breakfast was fantastic (croissant, cheese, etc). I am very happy I stayed here. Again to each his own.

Bad all around. They lost our reservation, even though confirmed, so waited until 5:15 to get our room. Top floor room with low ceiling and even lower beams. Rock hard bed gave me hip pointers. No heat, even at 10 degree C out and not much warmer in -cold feet all night. “Private “ bath was outside the room. Even worse with lower beams. Scary trying to get in and out of the terrible shower. Very disappointing after a long tiring walk and really needing a good rest.

Was given the attic and full use of its attic living room which was definitely not cleaned frequently. The attic ceilings were low and the toilet and bedroom was forced out of the apex of the house. Hit my head plenty of times. There were clean sheets but some of the woolen blankets must not have been washed for ages. Floors were also dusty. The was the smell of burning coals in the entire house and we had to leave the window open just in case I couldn't wake up overnight from the CO poisoning. I was extremely glad the older guests sleeping in the second floor woke up the next day. I thought all hope was lost and that I was the only one that made it. It was icy cold with the crack of the window open overnight but it was a small sacrifice to make to stay alive. The owner is a kind and hard working gentleman. Very affable and lovely. Food was prepared by him and delicious. Do not order the beef steak. He needs a hired hand to help with things in the house.

(POV: Camino Hiker) Upon arrival, the front desk informed us that there was no heat or hot water—an issue they assured us would be resolved, but it never was. While the room was charming, it had a strong odor of cigarette smoke and sewage. Dinner was a three-course meal that wasn’t worth the $15 price tag and took far too long. We sat down at 7:30 and didn’t finish until 10:00 p.m. Returning to our freezing room, we had to sleep fully clothed (two shirts, pants, and socks) just to stay warm. We skipped breakfast. This place has so much potential, but I’d recommend addressing the heating issue, implementing a smoking ban, and improving organization around meal times so guests aren’t eating so late. With these changes, it could be a great stay.
