Albergue Santa Clara

No Kitchen. The guy wasn't welcome at all.. There is no need to be ‘nice’, however, he should do what he is in charge of. When I arrived at the Albergue, he did not say anything and even not try to do check in process. At least, he should have done his duties as a host. I did not have many conversation with a woman host, so I have no idea about her.

The beds and location were very nice but the gentleman who checked us in was very rude, he insisted we had not reserved, until he finally found our email. The entire time we did not feel very welcome by him as he corrected our Spanish very rudely multiple times. The lady was very nice. Wifi is not very good for anyone who needs it. Had a delicious smoothie in the beautiful courtyard. I think the gentleman shouldn’t be dealing with customers.

This is a hidden gem of an albergue. The entrance looks unassuming however one then walks into a beautiful, relaxed courtyard. My room (one of the private rooms with bath) was wonderful. High ceilings, spotlessly clean, comfortable, windows everywhere (with blinds). I absolutely loved staying here. The restaurant/bar offers more than 20 varieties of wine! Rosa is a fantastic host (and a peregrina herself). Offering breakfast starting at 5:30 am, it’s a Camino pilgrim’s dream. Cannot thank you enough for your hospitality, Rosa and Santiago!

We stayed here. We were a little reticent walking up to it, but wow- our room was incredible. I felt like I was in a five star hotel with the shower technology. Lush, big towel, fridge, really comfortable bed. Cozy, welcoming courtyard where we ate the dinner we cooked. A delicious bottle of sidra for &2.50 euro, kind host who spoke English. I recommend for any pilgrim. We booked double room to be clear.

Don’t be deceived by the entrance, beautiful courtyard and amazing hospitality. Beautiful, modern, spacious double rooms with bathroom. Definitely a highlight on our Camino.
