Albergue La Encina

Only 4 people in each dorm (2 bunk beds) with an attached bathroom. Proper bed linen. Decent heating and WiFi. Very good value at 14E per bed. Tasty traditional food. Cold beer in the evening, hot coffee in the morning. What more can a pilgrim want?! Recommended!

I had the pleasure of staying one night, I had a wonderful meal too many beers, and when I asked about, could I find a lower bunk than one I’ve been assigned. The owner gladly moved me to her room, which it turns out I was all by myself. I think the service was wonderful. And would gladly come again. My Camino friend from Germany stayed here last night, and highly recommended it. He was right!

Are you kidding me, a ham baguette for 7 euros? Two eggs for 6? Pilgrims, welcome!!

Service non existent. Ignored in the restaurant while standing to be served, until another customer took pity and spoke to bartender in Spanish. Check in was rude. Not looking for a happy employees but no need to be unwelcoming. Could not wait to get out of this place to start the next stage of the Camino.

We stayed here in early June 2022. Our double room was excellent and very clean. I just want to add that the attitude of the proprietor/owner left a lot to be desired. We just felt that he had a negative approach to pilgrims. The two pleasant girls working in the kitchen compensated for his abrasive manner. Clearly I wasn't the only pilgrim who noted this as I read some negative comments directed at him in the visitors book.
