Hotel El Paso Honroso

Walking the Camino , stopped here on the first night (Saturday) for the night. The waitress from the cafeteria was the front desk person, as well as the only person working the cafeteria. She was very nice, but haggard as she was very busy. They were not serving food that evening, and the town seems to roll up after 6. The rooms were clean and decent sized- the shower in room 106 was great, great pressure and nice and hot.

This is a good hotel in Hospital de Órbigo, with a very convenient position, right besides the gas station and in front of the main road where that are the bus stops to and from the main cities of the surrounding area. They also have a comfortable bar, which serves coffees and breakfasts, as well as some warm dishes for people passing by and maybe waiting for a bus.

Every summer we spend a night at this hotel. We haven't been there for 2 summers and it has deteriorated quite a bit. We have had an unpleasant surprise. For starters, they are now pet-friendly, which you have to keep in mind if you don't want to stay up all night with the barking dog next door. The rooms were always simple but on this occasion the bathroom had broken tiles, chips in the bathtub and the broken shower mixer that made it difficult for us to regulate the water temperature. Uncomfortable beds. We spilled liquid on the bedspread and we put it aside so they could change it when making the bed but they put it back on us. In short, it was not a pleasant stay and I don't think we will return, at least until they give their rooms and bathrooms a good renovation. With the competition in the surrounding area, I hope they renew themselves or they will only have the workers in the area as clients.

Three star roadside hotel. The rooms meet the minimum services. It is a hotel that is already old and needs an image wash, to be updated. It was clean, but in our room specifically, the TV only tuned to radio channels. And in the headboard of the bed, there was a crack that I think should be repaired. The curtains are very old, some of their hooks are missing due to wear and tear. And in the gap between the double windows there is dirt that is not from the day. It is a hotel to get by for a day, not to stay for a vacation. In the same area there are others that are considered hostels and provide much better service and quality. They are not comparable.

Bizarre. Hotel with restaurant and a single person side by side doing everything. Smoking terrace next to the gas station and a 24/7 Mahou machine. Room next to the alarmed emergency passage. Free parking in the murky field behind. Views of the supermarket. All types of flies and mosquitoes. They accept pets. Impressive elevator and hall. We didn't even see the hospital. We will return.
