The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The rooms were comfortable and clean. The hotel itself is clean and looks very good. I traveled with a group of 22 more, intending to visite Ponferrada and its surroundings and to do walk on some of the hiking trails of the region and the hotel owner was kind enough to suggest a restaurant and he also made the reservations for us. Another thing that adds value to the hotel is its location, at 6 or 7 minutes walking of the historical center of the city and around the hotel several shops and pharmacies can be found. Great experience.

As a foreign pilgrim, I urge you to avoid this place or check how much you will be charged carefully before you hand over the money. I reserved a room for a single person after confirming on Booking.com that rooms were available (Argentinian friend helped me because the reception spoke no English). Could have booked on Booking.com but they take a fee and I want to help small establishments. Never have I been charged more than on Booking.com reserving directly with a hotel - except with this one. My Argentinian friend clearly conveyed over the phone that I needed a single room, but when I arrived I got charged for a double room because they ran out of single rooms. I know at the time they had single rooms because they were showing on booking.com. Plus, the lady on the phone didn’t mention anything about double rooms. Of course once I realized, I tried to convey this was dishonest because I had been promised a single room, but no refund was provided. I feel ripped off. I even mentioned to the man at the reception (who I assume was the owne) that it was not about the money but about the principle. At this point he could have offered to refund me the 7 euro difference as a gesture of good hospitality, but he stuck to his stubbornness. After nearly universal good treatment at the hotels along the route, I’m not happy about this. But I guess there always has to be a first.

Great value for money...very clean rooms in good location...would stay there again without hesitation

They had a very good variety of drinks and i could taste some nice premium drinks. Totslly recomendable.
