CASA MANOLA

Lovely reception when we arrived a little late in the dark. The first restaurant on our left as we walked into the village felt like seeing a mirage after a 30km walk. Excellent pilgrim menu from 2015-2130hrs for a very reasonable price (wine included). Great service and we felt very welcomed.

Unfriendly check in. Wifi is technically there, but with no connection to the internet. Booked it with breakfast and got none. This however may be a mistake of my travel agency. Got one after 5 km in nice Cafe. Rooms are Ok.

I stopped at Casa Manolo in this small village to eat and the experience wasn’t great. They were very busy, and I was told I’d have to wait 20 minutes to get food which was ok to me as I had time. I tried to know where I could sit, and even better with a drink while waiting, but no one guided me, and I ended up standing for 10 minutes. I signaled to the waiter three times without any response. In the end, I decided not to eat there. Overall, not a pleasant experience.

Attitude is almost ridiculously cold, but so is the amount of food they bring you. For 13 euro I got a big plate of deep fried squid with salad that looked like it was enough food for the money already but then came an even bigger plate with a variety of different freshly grilled meat. And everything was delicious. Definitely recommend this place unless you can have a panic attack if a waitress doesn't smile at you. Spoiler alert: she won't.

Phenomenal albergue. Boutique and immaculate facility. And a special shout out to the hard-working staff at the restaurant. I ate there last night and again this morning. They all do a 10/10 job. I’d stay here again!
