Brito Capelo 183

I stayed here as I began the Camino Portuguese Coastal Route. I agree with an earlier review that the outside isn’t very inviting, but inside it is beautiful! Everything was super clean and my room was very comfortable. The location is a little further from the central part of town than I realized and there was a short delay in receiving the information I needed to enter the building, so my arrival was confusing. However, I didn’t have to wait very long before I got the help I needed and after that everything was great.

If you visit Porto, you want to stay in Matosinhos. The people are friendly and helpful, the fish, and the wine are superb. The Brito Capelo 183 is a gem that will leave a warm feeling in your heart, where you just want to return to.

Cool place. My room was pretty small but there is a quite big shared living room & kitchen. The neighborhood is quiet at night, and there are amazing fish restaurants only 5 min on foot.

Such a lovely place to stay. We spent two nights there before our Camino de Santiago and it was one of our best accommodations. A bit off the beaten track, but close to the Camino. We could reach Porto in 30 minutes by train. Small, but quiet and cozy room.
