Sidrería Restaurante Hotel El Ovetense

A review about the restaurant. I came here as it was revived by Guia Repsol. While the food was good the service was unsatisfactory. Maybe it's because I'm not a native Spanish speaker. Neither of the 2 men waiting tables were interested in serving me. When I arrived I asked for a white wine and what the menu of the day was. He told me it was a cod dish I didn't recognise. When I asked what exactly it was he told me to look it up on the internet and walked away. As I didn't understand what he said exactly I could only guess. 10 minutes later he came back and asked what I wanted to drink... The main dish came while I was eating the starter, it was just placed on the table and left to get cold. They seemed to be very nice and attentive to the locals. The food was very good. If you are a tourist and don't speak fluent Spanish I would go somewhere else where you will be made to feel welcome. These days, not speaking the language should not be an obstruction.

The staff is very friendly and supportive! The location is amazing, you can reach any important attractions in 10 min. I will definitely revisit here if available.

A must when in Oviedo. Asked my mom and my first visit was a long time ago with 12 DAYS (she remembered well). A few house specialties to go and the whole family is happy. Too bad I didn't have time for cider. A smile and a wink to Homer who liked it very much!

Centrally located with a wonderfully friendly staff, this hotel provides quality budget conscious accommodation. I especially recommend it for anyone starting the Camino Primitivo!
