Hotel Carreño

Nothing special, but adequate if walking the Camino. Easy access to bus station and Oviedo centre / wine area etc.

Oviedo, Spain — Hotel Carreño I traveled here for a very important business trip, and Oviedo itself was lovely. Unfortunately, my experience at Hotel Carreño fell far short of expectations. Since checking in, on multiple occasions the front‑desk staff asked me what my room number was, which made me feel unfairly singled out. Then, one morning in the breakfast area, a local family (for example, the Watson family) sat down and were never asked for their room number yet immediately afterward a staff member came straight to me and asked, “What’s your room number?” This clear act of racial profiling left me uncomfortable and disappointed. On top of that, the constant noise from hotel staff doors banging, loud voices in the hallway made it impossible to get a proper night’s sleep. The room also had an unpleasant, lingering odor. The only positive was its convenient location next to the train station. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this hotel to travelers of color.

Very smooth check in with a very friendly and helpful receptionist. The room was spacious, very clean, and very comfortable. With everything you need, and different variations of lighting settings so you can lit the room the way you like. I like it dimmed. The bathroom was also spacious and super clean. You have the background sound of trains passing by, which I find very pleasant. Other people might not like it. The location is perfect, just a few steps from the train station. The receptionist also recommended a few nearby places where locals go for lunch. I had an amazing lunch not too far from the hotel. Overall great value for the price.

We have stayed here a few times. A great little hotel. Very good staff, clean rooms and a good location. OK so you hear the trains from some rooms, but it's near the station !! Breakfast is simple and tasty. Coffee is very good. Underground parking available, which we used this time. Recommended. A little gem !!

Perfect location, excellent quality/price ratio and comfortable rooms. Would definitely recommend
