We stayed here as a stop on the Camino, took a triple room as that all was available and it cost 45euro. Rooms where clean and towels, soap and shampoo provided. The place was very busy and the staff were friendly enough. Had a cheese salad sandwich which cost 4.50euro but it was fine. Nice place to stay
This is an albergue, the Spanish name for a hostel, so it's a very basic shelter with bunk beds in large dormitories. The individual space is limited and the bathrooms are shared. This said, all is clean and the people one meets are mostly pilgrims of the Camino de Santiago, so everyone is just seeking to rest and then go ahead and there isn't any problem. The welcome is friendly and the organization is good. Normal prices. From here, one can also arrange the shipping of the rucksacks to the next resting place, if needed. They also offer a dinner service and a bar facility.
Review for the restaurant Food is very good. Loved the paella. Lunch is available at 1pm... Just be aware of that. Nice cold beer and always a nice stop in Hontanas
This is a great option for pilgrims on the Road to Santiago with a stop in Hontanas. The beds are very comfortable and the water hot. The price of 6€ for a bed in the hostel is good value for the money and they have a bar and restaurant. The food in the restaurant is very good, although the Pilgrim menu at 11€ is a bit pricy. They have a terrace with facilities for washing and hanging clothes. I would have given 5 stars but the wifi didn't reach the dormitory and the second seating of dinner at 9.00 pm was very noisy for pilgrims who wanted to sleep early. All around a great place for pilgrims.
Lovely friendly staff, decent pilgrim menu (though do check out the menu del dia at Hostel Fuentestrella across the street before you decide!) good clean spacious rooms with big cupboards. Great showers. Very glad I stayed here!
